PolarExpo FISHING & HUNTING postponed to June

Because of the continuation of the Greenlandic Corona restrictions PolarExpo is postponed again. This time to 15th-17th June 2021.

Information regarding COVID-19

The Government of Greenland has just adopted the first phase of the reopening for Greenland, which will enter into force on June 15. The main points of the plan are:

  • 600 visitors per week are allowed.
  • Current announcements and guidelines are maintained.
  • Upon check-in, residents must be able to present a maximum five-day-old negative corona test.
  • Confirmation must be presented on the completed Sumut form
  • Upon arrival in Greenland, you must go directly for 5 days quarantine.
  • On the 5th day a new corona test is performed, if the test is negative, the quarantine is immediately canceled.

Please note that this is only the 1st phase of the reopening plan, and for good reasons we are not yet familiar with the provisions of subsequent reopening phases and when these will take effect. The next phase is of course dependent on the infection pressure in the rest of the world and especially in Denmark. We therefore encourage all travelers to Greenland to stay informed, just as we will also inform here on the exhibition website when changes occur.

Welcome to PolarExpo FISHING & HUNTING 2021

Catching and hunting have been the livelihoods of Greenlanders for generations, and in recent times fishing has become the most important profession in Greenland. Today there are about 2,030 people engaged in catching and hunting, while just over 3,750 have recreational hunting certificates.

At PolarExpo you are welcomed inside two large halls filled with exhibitors from Greenland, Iceland, Denmark, the Faroe Islands and others, who all present news in the fields of catching and hunting. PolarExpo is based on the PolarFish-exhibitions, which for many years have been held every second year and where the target group has been the fishing industry mainly. Now the fair has been moved to new and larger halls, which has allowed the focus to be aimed on hunting as well.

PolarExpo is the largest exhibition of its kind in Greenland. The exhibition attracts both exhibitors and visitors from all over Greenland and abroad. At the exhibition there will also be the opportunity to follow a number of relevant lectures and seminars that will keep you updated on everything related to catching and hunting in your area.
